L.ENG 241 - Mississippi River: Lore & Legacy-EC Credits: 3
Mississippi River Lore and Legacy helps students establish a sense of local place focused around North America’s most prominent river as groundwork for developing a sustainability ethic. Students read both literary (mostly creative nonfiction) and informational works to understand the river’s impact on individual lives as well as the geology, ecology, human history and culture surrounding it. Students write in the creative nonfiction genre about a nature-based topic related to their own lives. The course requires two out-of-class local environmental study trips.
