L.SPA 203 - Spanish Communication I Credits: 3
SPA-203 is the first course in the two-semester communication sequence of the Spanish curriculum. These courses serve as a transition between the skills acquired in Spanish language courses and those needed for upper-level classes. In SPA-203 students develop linguistic and analytical skills through the study of cultural issues in the Spanish-speaking world. Students engage with these cultural questions through literature, journalism, film, art, and other forms of media to broaden their understanding of Hispanic and Latinx communities, foster intercultural competence, and deepen linguistic and critical thinking ability. Prerequisite: Placement or L.SPA 202 Co-requisite: None General Education Classification: Not Applicable
