This course examines the history and culture of the Spanish-speaking world, focusing on the Spanish Empire and its impact on indigenous peoples and spaces. Students will draw from both primary historical documents and secondary sources to understand how the colonial past impacts issues of social justice in the contemporary Spanish-speaking world.
