L.CHE 360 - Biochemistry Credits: 3
This course focuses on the basic underpinnings of chemistry in the living world. Toward this goal, we will study the four basic biochemical building blocks: nucleotide, amino acid, carbohydrate, and fatty acid. We will pursue increased complexity resulting in the composition, structure, and energetics of biological macromolecules including nucleic acid, enzymes, cell membranes, and the chemical transformations resulting in energy production and storage. Lecture only. Offered every fall semester. Prerequisite: L.CHE 112 or L.CHE 212 Co-requisite: None Pre or Co-requisite: L.CHE 231 completed or concurrent
