L.SOC 350 - Health and Society

Sociology of health is the study of individual and group behaviors with respect to health and illness. The course considers medical professionals and their behaviors as well as the general population’s responses to health and illness. We examine structural and cultural forces that impact health. Sociology of health explores individual and group responses to assessing well-being, maintaining and maximizing health, acting upon illness, and interacting with health care systems.
Prerequisite: L.SOC 101  or L.SOC 115 ; And 1 additional Sociology course or L.BIO-257/L.KIN-257
