City as Text is a required course for the Loras College study abroad program in Dublin, Ireland. This course seeks to foster a deeper understanding of participation in distinct democratic systems of government through 1) extensive study and discussion of Irish political and social issues in a comparative context; 2) in-depth experiential investigation of topics related to the participation in governmental and/or non-governmental organizations in Ireland and other comparative contexts 3) field work projects examining the integration of the principles of CST into governmental and/or non-governmental organizations that serve communities in Ireland and other contexts.
