The undergraduate minor in the Health and Medical Humanities at Loras College is committed to the liberal arts and Catholic Social Teaching. Specifically, it prepares students to prioritize compassionate and holistic care for patients and families; advocate for the rights of the poor and vulnerable; communicate the principles of a more just and equitable healthcare system; and engage in their health vocations as lifelong learners, committed to the values of Catholic Social Teaching.

Requirements for the Minor in Health and Medical Humanities:
A total of 18 credits are required to complete the Health and Medical Humanities minor. In addition to the cornerstone and capstone courses, students must complete 12 credits. Participants take at least one course from Expression/Communication, Stories, and Contexts & Systems and one additional course from one of the three categories. No more than 6 credits from any one discipline [prefix] may be counted toward the minor.
