L.CHE 446 - Instrumental Analysis


Credits: 3

An advanced course in analytical chemistry focusing on how analytical instruments function. Students will learn about different components of instrumentation, how those components work, and understand the advantages and disadvantages of the coupling of different components into the larger instrumental schematic. Additionally, students will investigate how different analytical chemistry techniques in the areas of electrochemistry, spectrophotometry, and chromatography compare to one another, studying their advantages and disadvantages, and how various techniques may be best suited to answer particular research questions.
