William Hitchcock, MBA, Dean

The Loras College Insurance and Risk Management minor is designed to position students to enter one of the largest and necessary industries in the world. The content has been developed to ensure students appreciate the various roles of those working in this field, and welcome the opportunity to serve others (individuals and businesses) in protecting them and their assets. It engages students through applied learning, with an early goal of achieving state licensure. Extending beyond the entry-level expectations of licensure, the upper-level courses are project-focused and meant to provide students with an intriguing and valuable background prior to graduation.

This minor has been purposefully designed to align with any major, and afford all students an opportunity to learn about crucial and necessary roles in the insurance and risk management industry.

As with any degree at Loras College, ultimately, our mission is to create active learners, reflective thinkers, ethical decision-makers, and responsible contributors in diverse professional, social and religious roles.

Requirements for the minor in Risk Management & Insurance:

18 Total Required Credits
